Minister Almir Zulić Visits IUS to Discuss Future Cooperation and “Hasin Vrh” Memorial Park
Yesterday, the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) had the honor of welcoming Mr. Almir Zulić, Minister for Veterans Affairs and Disabled Veterans of the Una-Sana Canton, for an official visit to the University. Mr. Zulić was received by the IUS delegation led by Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Kuşakcı.
The meeting focused on opportunities for future cooperation between the Ministry and IUS, particularly in the academic sphere through the organization of seminars and other joint activities. Special attention was also given to supporting the establishment of the “Hasin Vrh” Memorial Park, a significant memorial complex currently under construction.
During the discussions, Minister Zulić presented the concept of the memorial park, envisioned in the spirit of the Çanakkale Martyrs’ Memorial. Drawing from his observations of the memorial’s organization, he highlighted elements such as authentic representations of a field hospital, wounded soldiers, and medical personnel who played an important role in that historic battle. These features are intended to contribute to the educational and commemorative value of the future “Hasin Vrh” Memorial Park.
The IUS delegation, led by Rector Kuşakcı, also accepted the Minister’s invitation to visit the memorial park site and learn more about the project firsthand.
In addition to Minister Zulić, the visiting delegation included Mr. Muhamed Memić, Assistant Minister of Finance, and Mr. Safet Mehmedović, a government employee providing technical support. The meeting was also attended by Associate Professor Dr. Jasmin Šutković, Acting Dean of the IUS Faculty of Medical Sciences (FMS), and Assistant Prof. Dr. Betül Akçesme, University Coordinator from the University of Health Sciences.
